TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has alerted the public that Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur province is among several bays in the country that are contaminated with paralytic shellfish poison (PSP), based on Shellfish Bulletin No. 24, which it released on November 28. Shellfish samples collected from Dumanquillas Bay in Zamboanga del Sur, Tantanang Bay in Zamboanga Sibugay, the coastal waters of Zumarraga Island in Samar, Matarinao Bay in Eastern Samar, and Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur continue to test above the regulatory limit for toxic red tide.
