MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano on Thursday challenged National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Melvin Matibag to appear before the Senate blue ribbon committee and present evidence regarding the 18 alleged ex-Marines each being bribed P5 million to testify as “bagmen” for expelled Rep. Elizaldy Co. Cayetano made the pronouncement shortly after Matibag, in a separate conference, bared that the NBI has received information that former congressman Mike Defensor bribed each of the “18 ex-Marines” P5 million.
