CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) administrators defended the hospital’s patient prioritization system, explaining that doctors and nurses follow medical triage protocols — not favoritism — when deciding which patients receive immediate attention. The statement came after complaints circulated online accusing some CCMC personnel of allegedly giving preferential treatment to acquaintances, forcing other patients, including senior citizens, to wait for hours inside the hospital’s Internal Medicine (IM) section and Outpatient Department (OPD).
