CIDG eyes syndicate behind fake license plates manufacturing

MANILA, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Monday said it was looking into a possible syndicate behind the manufacturing of fake license plates. “The plates you see being sold all around Metro Manila are only stores or depots,” CIDG Anti-Organized Crime Unit (AOCU) Chief Lt. Col. Dominick Poblete told reporters in an interview in Camp Crame. “The factory for these is outside Metro Manila, where they have machines that duplicate the plate numbers,” he added.
