MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-eight areas across the country are forecast to experience a dangerous heat index on Saturday, May 9, according to the state weather bureau. In its 5 p.m. bulletin on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that six areas will have a heat index of 44°C. Pagasa noted that under the danger level, heat index ranges from 42°C to 51°C which may cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion while continued exposure to the sun may lead to heat stroke.
