MANILA, Philippines โ Nationwide stakeholder consultations led by the Department of Education (DepEd) have started discussing a proposed executive order to update guidelines for class and work suspensions and resumptions during emergencies. According to a DepEd statement issued on Wednesday, the proposed policy will establish a framework governing when in-person classes and onsite work can be suspended in case of environmental and disaster risks โ including extreme heat, volcanic smog, heavy rainfall, and earthquakes โ and when they can safely resume.
