Phivolcs apologizes for ‘incorrect’ M7.5 earthquake announcement

MANILA, Philippines — The state seismologist on Friday apologized over an incorrect magnitude 7.5 earthquake announcement which appeared on its website. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said it was due to a system error.
