PNP to be on heightened alert for 2026 summer season starting March 29

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be on heightened alert for the 2026 summer season, the agency said on Monday. The heightened alert level status, which limits the number of personnel who may take leaves, will take effect at 6 a.m. on March 29, ahead of this year’s commemoration of the Holy Week, PNP public safety division chief Col. Analiza Macapinlac told reporters in Camp Crame. She also detailed that at least 54,989 police officers will be deployed from March 29 to May 31 for security amid the season.
