Teodoro: PH needs more than Asean relations for national security

MANILA, Philippines — Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro said the Philippines needs more than its ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) for national security. “Part of modernization is strengthening alliances and interoperability,” Teodoro explained during a roundtable discussion with the Inquirer on Wednesday. “It’s part of your mix of deterrence.” “For Philippine security, Asean alone is not enough.
